my gaming pc has just been sitting around for a while until recently i tried to play far cry 4 and i am having issues playing
specs
17 2700k
16gigs 1866 ram
asus maxamus IV rog
asus 760 2g video card
126 g ssd
my screen resolution is 5760x1080p
even on low setting i get a stutter just ran 3d mark and its still stuttering i get around 1200 fps for a few seconds then down to 20 fps then back up.
about to do a fresh w7 install and refresh the drivers
is it worth buying a 2nd 760 card? and will the vram double in sli?

VRAM doesn't compound in SLI or Crossfire. You're better off buying a 970 over another 760. Although, you could get away with an R9 290.

You might be having stutter issues because of vram limitations. 2gb is a very small amount to have, when running 5760x1080p.

Dx12 has made claims of vram stacking, and pretty much changing the way multi gpu's are used/etc.

Well, yes, but I wouldn't get a second GTX 760 in hopes of DX12 coming out sometime soon.

I wouldnt buy a second 760 for any reason really. Was just pointing out my hopes for dx12

Thanks for the replys guys i have messed with drivers with no increase in performance so I think new gpu it is. The i7 is currently at 4.5ghz. Is the 970 the card to go with? Not sure if I like the idea of used but a 980 is about 400 on ebay but again it is used
