Hey guys.

So i just installed a new CPU fan..
For some reason, this has made the back case fan spin extremely slow????

I have a picture of it, it might not seem slow, but imo you shouldn't be able to see the actual blades on the fan, while taking a picture of it?
for me, it barely spins.

Before i changed the CPU fan the speed was normal.
What could have caused it to start going slow?

I tried 2 fan connections, both are going slow :(

/e, i don't have either of the sides on the case closed at current point.
/e2. Apparently after turning on prime95, it toke up some speed, but still seems slow, compared to before?
Does it maybe just regulate itself, as needed?

Here's a picture:

you should turn your cpu cooler to exhaust out the back

also it could be your bios controlling fan speed and now that you have the cpu cooler on temps are cooler thus slowing down the fans.

The cpu fan is set to blow upwards, and i have another fan, not currently connect, that i want to connect, and as it's not currently active, all the cpu fan will go up through that for now :)

After a bit of usage, it seems the case fan has gone back to spinning normally.

So, it is possible to set a specific fan speed via bios?
Id love to do that to the upper fan, as it's noise as hell, yet good to have going :)

Yeah take a look around for fan speed settings. should have some reasonably cool options, such as keeping your fans as low as possible when temps are low.

is it connected straight to psu or to mobo?

I would assume its your bios controlling it based on the CPU temps

Okay guys, thank you for all the help.

Here's a bit of update:

The case fan that i in the start had problems with, is back to normal.
But now i tried to add my case fan in the top of the case, and it's just going haywire!

Here's 3 screens:

Also, does anyone know the difference on the Normal and Performance on the FX 8320
I mean, how high the difference is, if it's worth turning it on or not?

just leave it at 'performance' unless that disables idle clock states on windows (power saving "balanced" option, open up cpu-z and your clock speeds should be at 1.4ghz when idling)
otherwise it doesn't really matter.

Thus u should really turn it 90* so it exhausts out the rear. Bc you're pull some heat that comes from the gpu instead of the front of the case which should have a fan or two up front so it gets fresher air
