I'm running a AMD FX-8120 Eight-Core 3.1GHz with a GTX660 right now.

I'm planning a new build with a i5 4690k.

I want to be able to play GTAV with visuals better than PS4 and running at 50+fps

Should I upgrade my video card as well?

might as well

my first suggestion is the gtx 970 or r9 290, but it depends on what else you do / play, and preference

Going to an i5 will probably yield almost negligible performance boost for Gta v. [At the very least negligible compared to upping your graphics]
Going from a 660 to a Gtx 970 or an R9 290/290x will give you at least 75% more performance. As much as 110% as that is the performance gap between those cards. ^_^

edit: plus the gtx 900 series cards are coming with free witcher 3 copies, limited time. gotta get that for sure :]

Wait for skylake imo.

No point swapping from a 8120 -> i5 just to have skylake come out & piss all over the old i5 gen :)
