i5-4690k http://www.microcenter.com/product/434177/Core_i5-4690K_35GHz_LGA_1150_Boxed_Processor
asus z97 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132118&cm_re=z97-_-13-132-118-_-Product
RAM- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233170
(can't decide which memory would work well with the z97 mobo, I would say this is the area I need a better opinion on)

and I can't pick out a PSU either, been too long since I've built a PC but I need an upgrade. I would like to keep the PSU less than $100 dollars.
I'm going to buy the CPU in late April at Microcenter so I don't expect the price to go up, if anything I want the price to go down like it did in December.

I'm ready to buy a mobo and RAM if I can get a good deal, otherwise I can wait for one to come about.

Thanks again JSP.

First I'll ask what you're doing with your Pc.

Second Ill guess it's for gaming. If that is the case, RAM specifics won't really matter. So you can just pick what looks good for you [and that its compatible with your mobo]

750 watt modular PSU and the super nova is a great line.

it'll be for minor gaming, mostly for everyday daily use. planning to keep my computer on 24/7 haha
Looks like I'll be getting the mobo from Amazon, CPU from MicroCenter, and RAM + PSU from Newegg.
I hate dealing with mail in rebates.. what other PSUs would you recommend?
Also would I need 1600 or 1866 RAM with this mobo?

Well in that case my statement stands. :) Only photo/video editing professionals require better ram because it affects their rendering speeds.

Even if you dont do the rebate i would still recommend that psu, as it's still priced compeitively and is a good quality build.
Unless you just for some reason don't like evga... so here is a good rosewill unit that i think is next in line for best price without rebate.

I ordered the Gskill Sniper 2 x 4gb. Will probably order the Mobo through Amazon.

Is this PSU quieter and better than the EVGA one? I have an antec 900 so the computer is loud as it is.

noise can come from anywhere in the computer. fans on power supplies are generally quiet when not under full load. you may experience coil whine. its common and doesnt mean your computer will blow up.

as i said earlier, i wouldnt get the photon as it is new to the market and not many people have much to say about it (good or bad) on the internet just yet. this EVGA power supply is on sale for a really good price right now.

its probably about the same. its just an option if you for some reason didnt like a brand. I think in this scenario I would still get the supernova one. ^^
