can anyone help me step by step or link me on how to install old hard drive to my pc?
okay, i bought a 1TB hard drive and installed windows 8.1 64 bit on it and installed it as my primary hard drive for my computer.
now, i have an old 500GB hard drive that still have my important documents in it and i was wondering if i could use it as my second hard drive and use it as my storage hard drive.
but my old hard drive have windows vista and i'm currently running windows 8.1...
will i be able to open my old hard drive and maybe retrieve some of the important documents from there?

you'll probably have to go to Disk Management and give it a drive letter before it shows up in My Computer

Just plug it in and make sure your BIOS chooses the correct drive to boot from.

When you get all the stuff you want, off of it, then format it to remove Windows Vista.
