•Budget: ~1300
•More specific use (what games, what programs): warcraft, assassins creed, shadows of mordor, cod
•Planned time until purchase: ASAP
•Do you have any specific preferred components?: needs to have a 480GB+ ssd (or enough budget left to purchase separately) backlit keyboard would be nice but not a deal breaker
•Zip code/location? (Shipping costs): 56301

this laptop is going to be a replacement for my desktop. prefer to stay around $1,300 or less. I thought I saw a computer yesterday for about $1,100 with everything I needed. I will post the link if I find it again.
would like to get extended warranty for parts, accidentally shouldn't be needed unless cheap it wouldn't hurt to add that on.

good call i didn't even think of those types of ssds. also for comparison I was looking at the lenovo website and found this laptop
http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/lenovo/y-series/y50/?sb=:000001C9:0001434E:#tab-customize
what are the main things to look at when comparing the 2? they look very similar

they're basically the same, except the screen, GPU & brand.
Asus is TN, Lenovo is IPS.
Asus is 960M gpu, Lenovo is 860M, their 960M is $1,469.99.. + 200 on a SSD. Could get a better laptop @ 1.7k

alright sounds good. I will do some more digging comparing the 2 and reading others reviews/opinions on them. wish lenovo named their laptops different.. lol hard finding up to date comparisons with these 2 laptops actually having the correct hardware to compare.

thanks for your input!
