Hey guys, just installed my gtx 970 and my cpu is bottlenecking pretty badly! Looking to upgrade my CPU, MOBO, and ram. My ddr3 is old as fuck, I'm currently running 16gb but I may as well upgrade as i've had it for over 4 years.

I'd prefer something like ASUS Z97-A with an intel i5 4690K and 8gb ram (I no longer deal with cinematography haha) A new PSU is not needed as I currently have a 550w PSU. Opinions and builds welcome!

lol how did this get skipped? anyways, how do you plan on going with DDR4 then? stick to your current RAM, get a 4690k and as for mobo, you can get that, MSI z97 kraken or a pc mate for cheaper.

with that said, might not be a bad idea to wait for skylake since you are waiting for the witcher 3 anyways. but thats not till summer. also, 4 years means your PSU might need an upgrade. what is your current make and model?

My opinion is to just buy the 4690k and the motherboard you want.
Keep the ram, because it hasn't gotten any better.
