Here is everything I need for the Laptop:

6-8gb of ram
13-15 inch screen
SSD
Decent graphics card
weighs under 5 pounds
price 800-1200 tops
something that can survive some wear and tear

This wont be used for gaming, but I need it to run multiple programs at the same time for my schoolwork.

Your price range doesn't really allow for you to get a decent graphic card with a ssd. Also seeing as how graphic cards add weight
it makes finding anything under 5lb very difficult. You also didn't mention how much space you need on the ssd.
