Let me get your thoughts on which of these would be the best:

Corsair AX750 (refurb) - $70
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139118

Rosewill Photon 750 - $80
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182323

I don't usually buy refurbished products, but I have a few friends that swear by them because they claim most of the time it's minor reasons the product was refurbished, yet it's usually a huge discount.
The thought of a refurbished power supply just makes me nervous, considering the power supply going awry could ruin almost everything in the system.
That being said, I've never heard complaints about Corsair PSUs.
A previous thread I posted contained a Photon (the 650w I believe) and someone was saying they're probably low quality, but the reviews on that particular 750w seem really good.

Just looking for thoughts overall.

What is it, exactly, about the Photon is it that you're so positive makes it a horrible choice?
You recommended an 80 plus bronze, a refurb, and a non-modular supply over it. It clearly must have some major downfall.

Its a relatively new, relatively untested power supply. Sirtec is the OEM.

The 5% difference in power efficiency between a Bronze and a Gold PSU isn't going to make much difference unless you're cutting it close on your usage anyway.
Modular doesn't make a power supply better or worse. It just makes cable management easier.

The EVGA B2 is made by Super Flower (one of the best PSU OEM's) and the Photon is made by Sirtec. Sirtec is still a great manufacturer, but the line of supplies the Rosewill Photon is on is still too new. Its like... 6 months old or so. Its listed as 80+ Gold, but I do believe the certification is still pending. I could be wrong on the last part though.

Its just usually best to go with something tried and true over something that has potential but still unknown.

So the refurbished PSU shouldn't make me nervous?

DeXa I see you in this thread. Would love if you weighed in on the topic.

EDIT: And you posted as I did. Lol

Regarding the modular vs non-modular I just really don't want to go back to non. The cable management difference is enormous and I don't want my computer looking like a spiderweb of cluttered cables.

Do you have any input on the refub AX750? Joe clearly endorses it but I still don't know how nervous I should be of a refurb power source.

I'd rather buy a recertified or refurbished item than an untested sub par entry level power supply. Manufacturer warranty still applies pretty sure as wellwell

Looked up the reviews photon not too hot
