So my components finally came in and I'm about to dive into my build. But one thing I am curious about because I have never used a different motherboard than my asrock is if I will have to do a clean install of Windows and core drivers on my SSD or if I'll be able to essentially perform the physical build on the computer and plug in my 'old' had drives. I have a SSD for my OS and a HDD for storage.

you will need to do a clean install of windows. be sure to backup your data first. have fun.

Update:

I have the PC assembled. I don't have my cable management done yet but everything is working properly.
I actually just plugged in my SSD with my OS on it and it worked properly after Windows 8.1 configured itself. I will let things ride out for now. Worst case scenario is that my OS install becomes corrupted and I have to reinstall, in which case I was already planning on formatting my SSD and reinstalling anyway, so if I can prolong the inevitable then it's somewhat of a win.

I'll try to get pictures and/or videos over the weekend to display my build. Of course that will be after my cable management is complete.
