I'm looking to upgrade my Phenom II X6 1090T with a new processor mobo and gfx card.

I'm leaning towards the i5 4670k just not sure of which mobo to use..

Things I'm bringing over from my old setup is the RAM (16 GB of 1600)
PSU is a OCZ modular 750w
DVD drive
320 GB Velociraptor
2 x 1 TB storage drives
DVD drive.

Case I'm using for now is a Cooler Master Elite 430.

Looking to keep the price for everything around 600-700 for those 3 items.

Games I mostly play are BF4 and Hardline, AC4, Star Citizen and DayZ.

Any help is appreciated.

I also plan on buying an SSD in the future. I'm thinking Samsung 840 EVO in 500 GB.

inb4 whatever mobo and Gtx 970.

With the budget pretty much everyones gonna suggest the gtx 970 as its the most modern tech.
Personally would pick your favorite looking Z97 Mobo.

Also, might be more economical to get the 4690k. Usually theyre cheaper than the 70k. [unless ofc you have one at the right price already]

This is my choice set

I'd just overclock your cpu, it's a beast.

Okay so i'm ignorant to overclocking and not sure if my board supports it or even how to do it.

My board is an MSI 890FXA-GD70.

Any idea what I can run this at? I have a Hyper Evo 212 cpu cooler.

Your motherboard can overclock fine. Read a few guides about how to do it manually, since it usually runs better than with Auto-OC utilities like OC Genie and such. Guru3D managed to get your exact processor and MoBo to 4.1 GHz at 1.5v that ran at about 61°C.

So, I did some work and got it overclocked to 3.999 Ghz stable for 12 hours on prime 95.

Now comes the big question, I'm getting an i7 4770K relatively cheap and an R9 290x BF4 Edition 4GB Sapphire card for $100.00 what mobo would anyone recommend? Also, will a Hyper 212 Evo be enough cooling for this cpu?
