Seeing 800$ builds with the 280x. The 290 is similar in price. Isnt it better? Thanks

Its better to go off benchmarks of actual games, Than hard stats / those weird "Compare" websites.

But yea, The 290 is a decent bit faster than a 280x

You might want to consider going for a 970 though, Better temps / fps / etc.

Compared benchmarks between 280x and 290.

On occasion, you can spot some 280(x) in the 150 region, with rebates, if you're looking to get better bang for your buck.

Also, if money is a concern, I do not recommend the 970, as it is disproportionately priced for what you get when compared to your alternative buys. [much how the 290 seems disproportionate to a regular priced 280x]

However, if budget allows, I would also consider a 970.
