Next week i am going to start travelling for work, away from home. I need a new laptop before the week is over for entertainment purposes, seeing as my 4 year old one is slow as a turtoise.

Laptop needs:
Country - norway
Store - http://www.elkjop.no/catalog/data/no_barbar_pc/barbar-pc (i want to buy one here, dont have time to wait, and I know people here so might get better prices)
Budget - 10.000-15.000 NOK (1.500-2.500 USD) will go over if nescessary, but I think this is sufficient
Usage - mostly watching movies and series in HD and web-browsing. I also want it to be able to play new games on high settings without lagging, such as dragon age inquisition

Expectations -
fast in windows/startup/having several programs/tabs open
Preferably not noisy and prone to getting hot
Slim is good, since i will travel with it by plane (but not a must)
Enough HD space, for movies and series. Id like to watch more stuff in 1080p and 720p.
Preferably faster usb transfer for removable HD if such things exist? I have a 2tb removable hd drive that is small (easy to travel with) so might help with less needy laptop specs
1080p supported screen, 17 to 19 inch. Not sure how large I want it, but larger is better? or is 19 too big
Lasts me years without having to be annoyed as I am now, while playing new games at 1fps or the bitch is lagging while moving from explorer to gom player

I am not sure what specs are good, and which brands are better.
If you can find one in the above link that is good value and seems to fit me, Id appreciate it.

Thanks

Edit: this is the more expensive one over my budget. Is it overkill or even a good product?
http://www.elkjop.no/product/data/barbar-pc/MSIGT722PE234/msi-gt72-2qe-234ne-17-3-stasjonar-gaming-pc
It is 4500 nok (about 700usd) more expensive than the cheaper MSI.
The difference I saw was the GPU: gforce gtx 980M 8gb, rather than 860M 2gb, slightly faster PCU and 6 usb3 ports
http://www.elkjop.no/product/data/barbar-pc/MSIGS602PC015/msi-gs60-2pc-015ne-15-6-gaming-pc

Also this looks to be a lot better than my 5 years old Stationary PC. When Im home should I rather hook up the laptop and use it instead to play games?

This is the laptop i posted costing 19000 nok: (about 3k usd)
http://usgaming.msi.com/Product/2014/Notebook/GT72-Dominator-Pro/

It looks really good but it says it weighs 9kg with the packings/wrappings/embellage however you say it in english.

I noticed MSI have GS models as well, which are slimmer and lighter at the cost of performance. Is this a better bet?
But I can buy the above one, since they have it in the store near where im working tomorrow, otherwise I cant get it by next week.

If you're going to spend that much, you really should find one with a 980m instead of an 880m like the first one you have linked.

Thanks for the feedbakc, i want this laptop to last for a while, so id rather go a bit over budget.

Its a bit more expensive in norway it seems, but not by too much.

I read a review of msi gt72 dominator pro (the laptop im talking about with gpu 980m), and it said it runs 4 ssd drives in raid 3.0
Do you know if this is the same for all models (the laptop is upgradable. For instance the one i can buy at 19k nok is the same gpu and cpu as the 3k usd version in a review from america, but it has 16gb ram instead of 32gb).
On the norwegian site it doesnt say the laptop has more ssd drives in raid 3.0, maybe they just dont know?

I think I will buy this tomorrow.
If it helps I can translate and post a list of all the specs?

More recommendation for this.
Thanks, seems like a good choice.
U know if that one runs 4 ssd drives in raid 3.0?

Also found out it weighs 4kg, and doesnt get hot, so should be allright for travel

There are different submodels to each model. The one with the SSD raid array is likely a higher submodel.

That makes sense.
Am i missing out on something by going with a single ssd drive?
I guess i cant be picky since I need it soon anyways, just like to know

Not really. You wont get any noticeable performance gain with SSDs in a raid array.

Ok, thanks for the help.
Ill buy this tomorrow after breakfast.

My old desktop (which is my best pc) only has a gforce gtx 400 something gpu (dragon age inquisition lags at like 5-20 fps at all low settings). Reading a bit up on these things, i really look forward to getting a good computer.

Another question: is it worth getting a new computer screen for home-gaming, both performancewise and for better experience? I have a 12 year old flat computer screen that was pretty decent back then.
