ok so I have a 2.4 ghz core 2dou laptop with 2 gigs ram. It runs 12 copies of d2 while web browsing OR 8 copies, play a movie and webbrowsing... and thats all it can handle.

I'm looking for the cheapest desktop/tower i can buy that will run 32 copies of D2, run a movie vie hdmi and web brows at the same time.

This is how i figured out i need a min of 8 gigs of ram. I took what resources i have/use and multiplied it by 4 (because i run 8 and need 32...8x4=32.

I used cpubenchmark.net to benchmark my cpu and timsed that by 4 to get a benchmark of 4000.

So minimum cpu i need is one with a benchmark of 4,000 according to cpubenchmark.net.

This is cpu/gpu/ram i was considering.

A10 5800k w/ 8gigs of ddr3 1600 ram.

I'd like opinions on my choice and other cpu/gpu/ram i might need.

Remember i want the least expensive only so to run 32 copies of D2, watch a movie and web brows.

Thanks guys.

I dont know that your math is valid but i think the decision is sound.
but if youre trying to be super cheap id run XP on the machine and go for 4 gb of ram. then if youre lacking ram, can buy more. - shaves 30-40 bucks.

can OC the cpu. not sure that you would benefit from additional cores going with amd.
i mean.. it's d2... :P

the 6300 doesnt have integrated graphics, so he would need to buy a graphics card.
i dont think the integrated graphics on the pentium are strong enough, so i think hed need one there too.
the 5800k has some beefy integrated ones, would probably be cheaper.

16gb of ram should be enough for your needs.
If you feel like getting more, get more but you should have enough with 16gb of ram until you extend the amount of bots you want to run.
