Everything still run games on ultra setting but just looking to upgrade for the future.
Currently Using:

Gfx Card = SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 6870
Processor = AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb Quad-Core 3.4GHz
Motherboard = ASRock 970 EXTREME3 AM3+
RAM= (Blue ones) G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3

For GFX card i was thinking about getting a EVGA GeForce GTX 970
Not sure what to look for next

To keep mobo you need to say am3 socket obviously, the only upgrade available there is an FX series processor, which isn't significantly better than your current.
I would just overclock your processor and buy a new card based on your budget. [Unless you want to get an i5 processor which is significantly better, but will be costing about 230 + 100 for mobo]

Gtx 970 is a fine card, but so is an r9 290(x).
If your budget is low enough a 280(x) is also a really good card.

Don't need RAM upgrade unless you wanna change color or somethin.
