I've been working with my 8+ year old custom machine, and it has come to the end of the line. It is time for me to upgrade without breaking the bank.
I'll be needing a new PC to run programs on for school, and since they don't always accommodate for my MacBook, might as well upgrade the PC first. But it will also be a benefit to be able to play some computer games again. I'll probably start playing WoW again, throw in some SC2 and D3 if I ever get bored. I don't want to be able to run top notch graphics, but that is a plus. Anything is better than having to use basically the lowest graphic sets in games. Yeah, this computer I have now is a dinosaur.
Budget: $600-$750 (big range, but I hope that leaves some options open)
More specific use (what games, what programs): WoW, SC2, D3, CAD, SAP2000, etc.
Planned time until purchase: No exact date. I'm not in a rush.
Do you need an Operating System?: No. Unless I can't find my Win7 disc.
Do you have any specific preferred components?: I'd like to just keep my current HDD. I haven't used anywhere near the 320GB of space. I can always reuse my case, too.
Do you need a sound or wireless card?: No.
Do you want stock cooling or do you plan on overclocking?: Stock cooling is fine.
Do you need a monitor? mouse? keyboard?: Have all now, and can purchase later if I decide I want better.
