I got him his processor, ram..that's ok
the problem I have is the video card I chose says it's pci-e 3.0 and all the motherboards I've been looking at are pci-e 2.0(or it's not even written what type of pci-e it is)
could that cause any problem?

Yes it works.
you can even use it in Pcie 1.0 slots, though that may cause performance to dwindle.
