I've been having an issue with my secondary computer and I can't tell if it's something faulty. But I can't tell what exactly is wrong.
It's such an obscure issue.
For some reason I keep getting an 05 error on my motherboard if I use the computer for a long duration of time. It's not guaranteed every time.
And other times it will randomly restart upon shutdown.
I have reason to believe these are two different issues.
If I use it for a short duration of time, it doesn't do it. And shuts down normally.
Every shutdown does pass through the 05 code, but it stops on it randomly if used a long duration.
I have tried unplugging all the cables and replugging everything in, but the same thing still happens.
Even using different cables on the power supply.
I don't have any replacement parts I can easily put in. So, some direction might be good.
The manual and online does not list a 05 error code.
And people who have had similar issues resolved doing random things.
The only new parts in the computer are the PSU, GPU, and MOBO.
The previous parts have been tested and used for a year now.
I've read about PSU ripple and possible PSU premature failure, but if anyone has any information about what the 05 code even is that would be great.
Hopefully this thread could possibly help someone in the future.
I am still waiting for a response from ASUS.
The specs are:
ASUS Maximus Formula V
4670k
16GB Dominator 1866 ram (2x sticks)
1000w Corsair RM
290x Double D
120gb SSD
RAID 1 with two 4tb.
Nothing is overclocked.
check your manual as tto what the code means
