Ok, so i'm going to gear torwards a build soonish, i'm looking at sli 970

I know that 970 sli can play 4k, but i feel like i'd be looking at an upgrade too soon to really go the 4k route

Instead, asus has a 1440p 144 ghz monitor that seems a bit more up my ally, and it would give some extra longevity to the 970s

whats your guys opinion on 1440 vs 4k with current hardware?

so, what my research tells me is probably true? 4k is more gimicky at the moment than realistic?

on more question... i've had little experiance with dual monitor setup, i have a really nice 1080p monitor at the moment, is there issues with them not matching resolution if i where to use them both? or will i just have to research how to set it up a bit

It's best to use same resolution monitors ofc, same make and model, even better...but apparently it can be done.

Might wanna ask Yupitsmeh, I believe he has 5 or 6 monitors atm.

Sometimes I think that the newer tech is getting to be MORE than reality. I mean, in real life, sometimes fast things ARE blurred. Just sayin.

On a 120Hz monitor...let's say a boxing match...after a while ya start to think you're gonna SEE every punch coming. Then real life comes along and knocks you out.

With the amount of time we spend gaming...we train our minds to accept that we will SEE everything coming...fist's, cars, bad guys etc. I guess I'd rather train my mind/reflexes to assume I won't always see things coming...which I think in the long run, will make me pay attention, MORE...in real life.

/e But that's just my thoughts on the 120Hz craze.

I wouldnt do 4k on a screen under 32"~

1440p @ 27 gets pretty small looking already.

You could always get a Qnix monitor & overclock it to 96-120hz (Pretty much a three click, done overclock)

Imo 970's wouldnt be able to play well enough at 4k to be worth it anyways.

I don't personally think it helps with your k/d bullshit / gaming. But 120hz does look really nice for fluidity in games/movies/etc.
