Hello my friends,

I would like to build a pc desktop. I play a lot of video games (wow/cs:go/lol...). And I do a lot of video editing (adobe premiere).

This is what I want to buy :

CPU = Intel Core i5 4670K - 3.4GHz

MotherBoard = MSI Z87-G45 Gaming/ASUS MAXIMUS VII RANGER

Tower = ZALMAN Z11 PLUS

HardDrive = Samsung SSD 840 EVO 250 Go

ram = G.Skill XL Series RipJaws X Series 8 Go (kit 2x 4 Go) DDR3 1600 MHz

GRaphicCard = MSI GTX 970 GAMING 4GD5 (or other brand for the gtx 970?)

First of all, do you guys have any opinion about that build? Something I should buy/not buy?

I'm hesitating between the two motherboards (msi/asus).
About the power supply, I really don't know which one to buy, I've seen that the "be quiet! Straight Power E9" could be a good option. What do you reckon?

To sum up :

1. Is it a good build?

2. What motherboard would be the best with the build (asus/msi/an other one)?

3. What power supply?

Thank you very much for your help!

- Budget:
- Zip Code or Location:
- Specific Use:

I play a lot of video games (wow/cs:go/lol...). And I do a lot of video editing (adobe premiere).

- Any preferred components?:
CPU = Intel Core i5 4670K - 3.4GHz

MotherBoard = MSI Z87-G45 Gaming/ASUS MAXIMUS VII RANGER

Tower = ZALMAN Z11 PLUS

HardDrive = Samsung SSD 840 EVO 250 Go

ram = G.Skill XL Series RipJaws X Series 8 Go (kit 2x 4 Go) DDR3 1600 MHz

GRaphicCard = MSI GTX 970 GAMING 4GD5 (or other brand for the gtx 970?)

- Any spare parts you can re-use?:
- Overclocking your processor?:
- Need an Operating System?:
- Need a Monitor? / Mouse? / Keyboard?:
- Need a Wireless Card or Adapter?

Fill the rest out..
we can't really give you any advice without knowing where you are from, how much the stuff is going to cost you etc.etc.
but 4670k is a good cpu, but 4690k is more new and sometimes cheaper, there's z97 mobo's now.. and that z87 msi board is decent, prolly more options if looked up.

Well,
I don't need anything but the pieces I wrote (I don't need os, mouse, keyboard,etc.)

This is not about the price, I already figured out the best value for money.
The need I help would be on the motherboard & the power supply
My budget would be around $1150.

CPU = Intel Core i5 4670K - 3.4GHz
$226

MotherBoard = MSI Z87-G45 Gaming/ASUS MAXIMUS VII RANGER
$175/$112

Tower = ZALMAN Z11 PLUS
$66

HardDrive = Samsung SSD 840 EVO 250 Go
$135

ram = G.Skill XL Series RipJaws X Series 8 Go (kit 2x 4 Go) DDR3 1600 MHz
$90

GRaphicCard = MSI GTX 970 GAMING 4GD5 (or other brand for the gtx 970?)
$450

Thank you secksii for your answer.
So you think I should buy a 4690K instead, that's only $20 more, this is a good idea indeed!
I just looked for the Z97, there are a lot of different models, do you suggest any one in particular for $100-170??

ill just assume ur from murica
4690k is $219 http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KPRWB9G/?tag=pcpapi-20
and on newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117372&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

get this motherboard, http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KLJ3F6Q/?tag=pcpapi-20
it's gfg and a steal.

you could combo them both on newegg, and get a $43 discount too. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.2060362&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

as for the case, for around $66 i'd suggest Corsair 200r or 300r. Quality is great, easy to manage cables, etc.

the ssd is awesome choice,

the ram you picked is overpriced.. get this http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00A14ZT8S/?tag=pcpapi-20
it's cas 8 so better perf than the one you have and it's cheaper. If you don't like the look, pick these then http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233180&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

GPU is good choice

I see, thank you very much for your help.
However, I'm not from muricaaa' but from France (Paris). I think prices are pretty similar. Maybe +5% in France.

You think that for the motherboards, Gygabyte > Asus or MSI ?

For the ram, I think prices are significantly more expensive in France than in America.

Is there a particular website you are planning to buy from?
From my experience, i like Asus and Gigabyte equally (usually go for whichever is on better deal), then MSI or Asrock.

For power supply's aim for bronze+ or gold+ with brands such as EVGA/Corsair/Seasonic

After your wise advices, this is the build I'll buy tomorrow :

CPU = Intel Core i5 4690K
(199€)

HD = Samsung SSD 840 EVO 250 Go
(108€)

MOBO = Asus Z97 Pro Gamer
(146,80€)

GPU = MSI GTX 970 GAMING 4GD5
(360€)

RAM = Corsair Vengeance Rouge DDR3-1600 CL9 8Go (2x4Go) - CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9R
(78€)

POWERSUPPLY = be quiet! Straight Power E9 Alimentation 450W
(68€)

Tower = ZALMAN Z11 PLUS
(53€)

seems good right? 450 Watt should be enough ?
