Wanted to see what everyone thinks and if there is anything i should change out.

Do you make money off that build by editing/rendering/photoshopping/whatever else?
What kind of programs will you use? Gaming mainly?
What monitor will be used? Which resolution will be used?

Your build is pure overkill then.
You could save like 700+ $ without ever noticing a difference in any game except for really bad portations like the current AC:Unity.

hmm. I figured it was probably overkill. I'm looking for something that will last for years to come without needing any upgrades. I'm also thinking of upgrading to a 4k monitor at some point.

Try this.
Do not go for 4k right now. Wait for the rest of the nvidia 9xx series and probably the AMD 3xx series to be released.
Speaking of that, you could save another 100$ on the GPU side with a R9 290. At 1080p, there is not too much of a difference.
You could even save some more and replace the RAM and cooler with even cheaper parts, but I think this is fine.

Thanks. I'm not gonna complain about saving myself $1,000. So if this is good enough to last me a good while i might just go with this instead.

Keep in mind, Aneas' build has no case. Although in his build I would get the MSI Twin Frozr GTX 970 rather than the STRIX
