personally id go with the acer, because i have had my old trash acer for years and no problems, ive also had a samsang 1080 p led 20 inch or so, monitor smells burnt after a few years which is why a prefer acer over samsang even the acer response time is slower

going to need another gtx 970 and I would get the samsung

Samsung is a better manufacturor, especially their panels. But the Acer has a better stand and 3 year warrenty vs 1 year with Samsung.

Tough call.

Do you really NEED a 4K monitor?

not really but i just want to buy a good monitor i dont have to replace i see 1080p leds for 100 bucks obo

Yes but they're only 2W. My Asus has 2x built in 2W also and they're really not worth using.

ok so it looks as if 4k monitors are not worth it, so someone throw me a nice 1080p monitor i can take advantage of with the sales coming up

Gaming or no? More specifically, do you play FPS games a lot? If so, you'd probably want a 144 Hz monitor. Otherwise, a nice IPS monitor like a Qnix Evo 2 or a Dell would do fine.
