Hey guys

Just wondering whether you think this is the best value for money, or whether you can see any improvements?

Looking at upgrading my CPU, GPU and motherboard

Intel i5-4690
Gigabyte Z97-D3H
EVGA 2G GTX 760

Cheers, appreciate any help!

You could most certainly see some performance boosts in upgrading your GPU.
at what cost... well.
You can sell your used gtx 760 on eigh bay for about 175-185 which leaves you with about 144-154 dollars after fees and an assumed 8 dollar shipping cost [average cost to ship a graphics card most places excluding weirdo locations like texas/arizona/california area]

Most people will recommend you upgrade to either a 970 or an r9 290.
the 970 is about a 70% performance boost over the 760 and about 120% more than the price you can sell yours for. [assuming sell price of 145 and purchase price of 320 for a 970]
the 290 is about a 55% performance boost over the 760 and will cost 58.62% more than you can sell yours for [assuming sell price of 145 and purchase price of 230 for a 290]

youll need a 500 watt psu for the 970 and about a 650 for the 290, though i have heard people getting away with 550 watt.

@OP - All of this above bullshit aside, get a 970.

I'll add my opinion now.
OP if you have the money I would get a 970.
If money is of any concern to you, whatsoever, I can't recommend the 970 as theres a fat premium on it right now. Once the new r9 300 line comes out will be the time to really consider your "next gen" upgrade.

Thanks all - appreciate it

I'm thinking of moving to the i7 processor, and maybe upgrade to the 970 (but if there is a premium I guess I can hold off on this for now as my current card is working fine)

I'll definitely need a new mobo. I'll come up with some ideas and post them in and see what you legends think :)

Cheers!!

The CPU upgrade is not worth it. Get the 970.

I agree OP, unless youre doing something really CPU intensive that is not gaming, I wouldn't ever upgrade that CPU until it dies.
Why do you think you need a new mobo? Is there something wrong with your current?
