Very solid build. I modified it slightly based on current sale prices and added a case. It does exceed budget a bit though...
$1115 - http://pcpartpicker.com/p/csmDhM

HDD isn't necessary if you think 250GB is enough (can always pick one up later if needed)... unless you tend to download a lot of media files (music, movies, etc) or have several large games, then it's absolutely necessary as those tend to be space eaters.

If you can afford it, I would go with this 100%, it'll run anything with style and will last for years to come.

All at MicroCenter. Its a little over budget, but you get the convenience of not having to wait for shipping and pick it all up if you want to. If you would like, I could show you a similar build that's cheaper using better deals from multiple sources.
All the above parts are currently in-stock at the Fairfax MicroCenter.

Unfortunately, MC doesn't have a very good selection of great RAM, but the Crucial should do fine. Getting better RAM at MC is just going to cost a lot more than it should.

I also live in the DC area, so if you need help just let me know. I can even help you put it together if I have time.

Edited the build because I misread your post and thought you had a case already! Derp. Still a little over budget. The case I picked is similar in style to the Fractal R4. There are slightly cheaper cases (like the Corsair 200R and 300R in stock as well that will save you about $20). You can also drop the HDD if you don't need more than the 250GB from the SSD and just pick up an HDD later when you end up needing it.
