No overclock, will be used to play some games and work.
Don't really have a fixed budget, I don't need much off the board, and I'm wondering if it's worth to spend a lot on it.

If you will ever overclock it.
If you do, you'll need to buy at least a CM Hyper 212 Evo ($25 or so)
If you live near a MicroCenter, you can pick the CPU up in-store for $30 less than the after rebate price of OutletPC.

If you want to save money and/or have no intention of overclocking ever.

Between the two builds, there is only about a $70 difference. Honestly, I would just go with the first one.

They're both mATX just because they're cheaper. If you want a regular ATX board:

go with this if you want intel badly and don't want to overclock : http://pcpartpicker.com/part/intel-cpu-bx80646e31230v3
it has hyperthreading, what i7's have that i5's don't have on desktops.

Do this if you're going to be severely multitasking and can take advantage of Hyprethreading. If you're just going to be playing game, stick with the i5.

the price difference makes it worth it :)
if op is only playing games, they should just get a fx 8320E cpu from AMD and call it a day, since they won't notice any performance difference over intel.
