Deciding whether to replace my whole machine or get a new motherboard.

Is it worth it to just upgrade the whole thing now and days?

Something is up with my power supply as well. So it would be a motherboard and power supply.

Current socket 1155

Build
Core i5 2500k
EVGA GTX 760 4Ghz SC
8 Gigs of ram
Biostar motherboard
Corsair 750w Power supply.

Its not dead just not working the way it should.

I can't use headsets because I get a horrible humming noise with input and output (People on mumble complain it sounds like I am shaving.)
One of the PCI Ports doesn't work neither does one of the SATA ports so I can't have 2 Hard drives and a DVD Rom drive at once.

I am pretty sure the humming is caused by the Power supply. I also get a horrible high pitched noise when I turn my computer off. I Have to turn the power supply off by the switch or unplug it.

Any suggestions on what Motherboard would be good for that socket type?

Hoping to reuse my old case which is below. Ideally I'd like to spend no more than 300.

sorry for double post forgot to post what case I have.

If you know of a cheap good case I'd like to replace it

But budget is 300 so IDK if that is possible.

nah, that case is completely fine.

and if you are unsure if it is PSU or mobo -- i would replace the PSU first, then again biostar doesn't make very good boards so you could just replace both.

no sense in getting new mobo if your psu caused the mobo to be shitty :(

those if you're looking to spend the least that you can while maintaining good brands + reliable parts :)

if you're looking to spend the full 300, i would throw in an samsung 840 EVO 250 gb as you won't see any, if at all, performance gains with upgading the psu/mobo

only get the thermal compound if u don't have yet ofc
