What do you look for specifically in a hard core gaming CPU, stats or brand or both?

Intel for hardcore gaming....AMD for multitasking, streaming, encoding etc.

Intel> for everything except price

Use AMD if your homeless, Intel for everything else.

You're all caught up on brand, so i guess thats my answer..

Reason is you can't judge based off of stats since between brands there gauged differently. AMD 3.0Ghz is different than intel 3.0 GHz not sure why but that's how it is.

higher performance per clock
higher performance per watt
higher performance in general
higher efficiency

amd pros over intel

cheaper

AMD FX-8350 Black Edition Vishera 8-Core 4.0GHz (4.2GHz Turbo) = $180

AMD FX-9590 Vishera 8-Core 4.7GHz = $220

Intel Core i7-5960X Haswell-E 8-Core 3.0GHz = $1049


/e Sure the Intel is the better CPU...but it's also a monthly house payment lol
