hi guys just wondering, if you were building a budget gaming pc, say around 700 aud. would it be more cost effective to go with an amd build?

Don't hate me for asking, I'm just very curious Bcoz the local pc store here has a variety of budget amd builds but only a couple intel ones, the rest r more expensive.

So shortly put, intel vs amd for budget gaming? And if it is amd, which CPUs would be best bang for buck so to speak.

you could save a bit by going with 8350 instead of 3570k

Gaming wise 8350 can't keep up with 3570k, the only exception is in Crysis 3 where they go head to head

Don't buy full pc, buy parts and build it yourself- cheaper and better quality.

AMD currently doesn't have really well performing cpu in games.

lol get your facts straight man, 8350 and 3570k are almost neck to neck atm
yes i still prefer ivy, but that new vishera is doing great in benchmarks and in budget rigs.

i'd go with a fx 8320 because factory underclocked 8350 ( unless price diff is like 10$ , it's not worth getting a 8350 over a 8320)

@caezium , check price differences , the 3570k is ~100$ more then the 8350. you should keep the price difference in mind when comparing, or you're going to fool yourself.
in single threaded tasks the 3570k beats the 8350 , but in multi threaded tasks , they're on both pairs but in things like streaming and rendering , the 8350 beats the 3570k.

Benchmarks are all over the place between the 2.... some say it's better some say they are equal... some say the 3570k is better...
