I'm moving out and won't have a computer anymore so i'm finally seriously looking into buying a new one. This is not going to be a gaming PC and it won't be a desktop computer either. I don't game anymore, and i'll want something that can double when I go to the University of British Columbia this September. So the battle is between:

Budget: Under 1000$ CDN (If you're from aMURRICUHH remember to check Canadian prices lol...or you could just tell me the answers and i'll see if its in the budget)
Preferably under 600$ CDN.

Samsung Galaxy Tablet
Vs.
Blackberry Playbook
Vs.
iPad
Vs.
Laptop

My questions to you are:

1) Samsung Galaxy Tablet Vs. BBPlaybook Vs. iPad - Which is best and why? I know that the Galaxy Tablet has an attachable keyboard for easy use, can browse easily on it, can watch videos like movies and tv and netflix on it. Really don't know anything about the BBPlaybook or the iPad, but i'm pretty skeptical when it comes to iTechnology since i've had mac computers for so long...I know they're not as good as what they should be for what the cost is.

2) If I have no interest in gaming, just using for internet browsing, video watching, typing documents (microsoft word is a must), which would be better to get: Laptop Vs. the best chosen item from question one.

It really depends on the laptop + What is your budget? I don't know much about the others, but I heard the blackberry thing sucked dick. My girlfriends sisters have ipads and those seem nifty.

Don't know much about laptops lol. And the budget is under 1000, preferably under 600.

you know you can get a decent gaming computer for $600 right?

i wouldnt get a tablet

you could get a decent laptop that can run sc2 on low with 100+ framerate all game for 800-900$

how about just a decent laptop vs a tablet for the purposes i'll use it for. Im not going to be playing starcraft or any other game. This is why im wondering Tablet Vs. Laptop

Would also be a lot easier/lighter to carry a tablet instead of a laptop when i backpack europe this summer.

if u really want a tablet
id go with galaxy

otherwise id say laptop
