I’m looking to get back into Diablo after a long hiatus. I haven’t owned a desktop PC in 15 years. My go to computer guy passed away a few years ago and I don’t know anyone else who is knowledgeable to ask for help.

I’ll also be working from home in a few months but my job only requires modest tasks. If the computer can run d2r smoothly I should have no issues also doing work stuff on it (I think).

I’m welcoming baby number 3 in a few months so I need the rig to be as cheap as possible.

I currently own a 77” Sony OLED television. My ideal set up would be to play Diablo on the television if such a thing is possible. I don’t know if that will change how good the PC needs to be or not.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

My opinion:
Its possible the worst time to build a pc right now. RAM and Storage is so expensive, the usual 300$ ram now costs up to 1.5k€

If you want information on building one, i can help, but i would suggest that you take a look into "Geforce now". Maybe that fits your needs just right.

Hey,

My opinion would be to look at the recommend specifications for d2r for example:

Recommended Specifications

Windows® 10

CPU: Intel® Core i5-9600k
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1060
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT
RAM: 16GB RAM
Hard Drive Space 30 GB
Resolution 1280 x 720 (or whatever your monitor may be, you can pick up a cheap monitor from ebay or amazon just choose a full HD monitor 27 inch and your good to go, i do not recommend playing on TV due to input lag such as when you click to do a skill, there will be a delay.

Go to either amazon or ebay and look for a "2060 Super" PC or a "2070 Super" PC, i have 2070 Super and it runs loads of games perfectly fine to be honest even at 2k resolution too (as this is my monitor). Get a computer that has DDR4 memory its cheaper than DDR5 will save you money and if you get a FULL HD monitor (1920x1080/1080p) 27 inch or whatever space you can have, the games will run fine on the graphic cards i suggested. :)

If you are buying from amazon/ebay make sure you ask the seller to stress test the computer for graphic card/hard drive and CPU/RAM, to see if it's in working condition, if you aren't sure regarding what temperatures are normal please do research such as youtube videos for the PC you are buying, if you decide to do the following stress test below it should give feedback for example if a stress test is going well after 30 minutes it's usually fine.

Ask the user for the following stress test:

GPU: https://benchmark.unigine.com/heaven or GPU: https://geeks3d.com/furmark/
CPU: https://prime95.net/
RAM: https://www.memtest86.com/
Hard Drive: https://www.seagate.com/gb/en/support/downloads/seatools/ and https://www.hdsentinel.com/index.php

I genuienly hope this helps. :)
