I snagged a 5080 at msrp basic model.

Also, have option to get a 5070ti for msrp.

From what I've seen difference is only like 10%, I game in mostly 1440p, but want to start playing games on my 4k oled. Is the 5080 worth $300 price gap?

The 5070 ti is better value, it's more like a 15%~20% difference i believe, but the 5070 ti is still better performance per dollar. That being said, me being a snob, I would probably put out the extra $300. While that is the worse financial decision now, it might be the difference between having to upgrade ever so slightly later than if you had the 5070 ti.

Here in Europe where i live the price difference between 5070 ti and 5080 is more then $300 , its more like $400 - 450 so if you want to play at 4k oled and can afford to spend that $300 more go for it
