Is a Ryzen 7600x good enough to run 8 copies of D2R for p8 games, or should I go for the two extra cores on the 7700x?

I'd go with the extra cores to be honest. 7700x will meet your needs; make sure to get 64 gigs of RAM to be on the safe side.

i do 8x instance on 5800x (8 core) and its runs good

it would run smoother with 16 core sure * but 8 works

** more importantly u want 64gb ram AND 20/24gb vram on gpu
7900XTX (24gb vram) is great choice for 8x d2r instance (its only downside is RT and u dont need it)

I was leaning towards the 7700x and am definitely planning on 64gb ram, ty for the tip!

Do you think the rx 6800 with 16gb vram should be able to handle it? 7 of the 8 instances will be on legacy graphics. Ty for your reply!

it sure will work, but once your vram is full (4-5x instances) , the system ram and cpu takes over (and you'll feel a perf dip)

*more cores and more ram helps reduce that dip but it'll be there

** minimizing the instances u not activily playin on will help a lot (u dont want it behind other windows - they will still be rendering - u want em MINIMIZED)
