Hi all

I want to build a pc which is able to run 1x instance of d2r with max graphics settings (only background tasks will be internet browser), and doing so totally silent, meaning fans spinning so slowly that you would not hear it in a silent room.

Atm I am using a minisforum HX99G, it has: ryzen 9 6900HX, RX 6600M, wd black sn850x 1tb, kingston fury impact 32gb (2x 16) 4800 mhz, (this is a mini-pc using laptop components), using a samsung 49" 32:9 60hz 5120x1440.
Compared to the size, this is a good pc, it has good liquid-metal cooling and is running d2r at max settings, but then the fans have to rev up, even then it is not loud, but I am aiming for silent now.

So then my question to you is which components will I have to use to achieve silent d2r at max settings.

Do any of you have a high end gpu, and can tell me if d2r is such a easy task, that the fans stay idle?

So you get an idea, now I am looking at these components:

fractal torrent nano
bequiet 4x 140mm silent wings 4 fans
bequiet dark power pro 13 1600w psu
bequiet dark rock pro 5 cpu cooler
asus rog strix B650E-I gaming wifi
ryzen 9 7900x3d
red devil rx 7800 xt

I have a sapphire pure Rx 7800xt and I play diablo 4, it runs really quiet stays below 70c

also have a fractal torrent compact and it is a very silent case but the fans can get loud at load however my fan settings are at turbo mode.

You need a mid-tower for this since it takes up 3 to 4 PCI-E slots.

You could also use MSI afterburner to create a custom fan profile to reduce GPU fan noise.

Won't happen. Not for the reason you think.

Because the legacy mode runs in the background the gpu is trying to render 1000+ fps
You're gonna get coil whine aka noise. Most people have this issue.

/E you can cap fps and switch to windowed and it will go away but I have never not had the problem with it running max borderless windowed or full screen on d2r mode
