since having my pc, ive had multiple issues with it freezing
''screen of death'' i could be in game, on the internet, whatever, but it would just freeze sometimes on its own and i'd have to restart it using the power button.

but in recent weeks aswell, sometimes my screen goes black, as if the monitor has been turned off, and then the pc restarts itself, its frustrating and theres nothing obvious that i can point to.

my only thought is it could be the cpu or psu

i dont have any knowledge about this side of computers tbh, but it did it more frequently when i first bought it, until i reinstalled windows fresh and it did it less frequently

could it be that my base GHZ on my cpu is only 2.9 and therefore could automatically overclock itself when handling a large amount of tasks?

The next time you bluescreen or your pc turns off by itself, note the time it happened and you can use this guide to get a better idea of what’s going on: https://www.auslogics.com/en/articles/find-out-the-cause-of-event-manager-bsod/

What model PC do you have? Or is it a custom built one?

Also I would download HWMonitor and checking to see if you can find anything that’s overheating.

it doesnt blue screen, it just crashes completely on whatever screen its on.

XUM Elite Gaming PC: Intel Core i7-13700F, RTX 4070 Super 12GB, 32GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB NVMe SSD, 850W PSU, aRGB, WiFi
this is the exact description of it from when it was bought
so its not custom built

i used to check on system, maintenance, and you can actually get the error log thats there, however it doesnt say what causes the crashes, just says ''windows was not shut down correctly'' after i turn it off, which i cant figure out

Ah gotcha. I’d check out HWMonitor then to see if anything looks off temperature or voltage wise.

Inb4faultyram

Run memtest, can easily make a bootable flash drive and test your ram.

I will bet it's a faulty ram

I'd bet on ram, too. Did you overclock them with an xmp profile?
