Hey folks,

It's time for me to upgrade my currently 10 year old pc, even tho we had good times together, it just cant run properly anymore so its time to retire it.

the thing is, i have no clue which hardwares are good atm, or what part works good with other parts -

my plan is to just buy a pre-build one, i have been looking into couple of sites, and found some pre-built pc's i am not sure if the pc's are worth it tho.

it confuses me very much to see all kind of weird numbers like i5 14400f or amd ryzen 9000 something something, its like learning a new language :(

my question is, what should i look for, i have a budget of maximum 1.2kUSD it doesnt have to cost that much but i wanna make sure when i buy a PC its so i can use it for atleast 6+ years without any major upgrades -

games i play mostly doesnt require much i usually play games like

path of exile, counter strike, diablo - etc

i am just looking for a rig that can run games smoothly -

i have been looking into this PC - Price is 1180~USD:

Intel® Core™ i5-14400F Processor
DeepCool AK400 Zero Dark aircooler
Asus B760M-A Prime Motherboard
Kingston Fury Beast 32GB DDR5-6000 RAM (CL30)
Kingston NV2 1TB NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD
Asus GeForce® RTX 4060 8GB Dual OC
Corsair CX550 550W 80+ Bronze
Phenom Air480 RGB Kabinet

feel like its a bit overkill (to expensive).

And also this one - Price is 1160~USD:

Asus A620M-A Prime motherboard
AMD Ryzen™ 7 7700 Processor
DeepCool AG400 Aircooler
Kingston Fury Beast 32GB DDR5-6000 RAM
Kingston NV2 1TB NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD
Asus GeForce® RTX 4060 8GB Dual OC
Vision Viper M100 Black kabinet
Corsair CX650 650W 80+ Bronze

For roughly 80$ i can upgrade the gfx for a 4060TI 8gb

it doesnt necessarily have to be one of the other if i can find a better sample -
but i just wnana make sure the rigs are good before i spend over 1k on it - its a lot of money

any tips / advice would be much appreciated

i would like to thanks in advance, and wish u all a good day/night :)

Build yourself. Get a GPU with more than 8gb vram.

Building yourself will be cheaper nine times out of ten unless you find a great deal.

Your second link is good enough for your use case though if you don’t feel like building it yourself. No need for the 4060ti imo

i dont have any experience building my own setups - so i prefer not to, cause if i mess something up im afraid i wouldnt know how to fix it .

so you would recommend getting the setup with AMD ryzen cpu?

some of my geeky co-workers told me to stay away from the 4060 since the 3060 is equally good, do u know if thats true ?

Yes, I personally prefer AMD these days when it comes to CPUs.
The 4060 is a bit faster than the 3060 and is less power hungry, but the 3060 12gb version has more vram if you need it. It’s moreso a give & take depending on your needs.

I wouldn’t change anything for your use case. If you decide to play a game more vram intensive it may struggle, but you can always lower shadow settings ingame and it usually alleviates it
