This board does not support the m.2 ssd. So no it would not work.

You can buy PCIe adapters for your M2, but at that point you may as well just use the SATA's and go 2.5" SSD..

Your current PCIe 3.0 x16 is being used by the GPU
You have 2x PCIe 2.0 x1 slots that should be empty (by MSI's website)

If you could install something like this;
https://www.newegg.ca/riitop-model-dul-m2tpce4x-pci-express-controller-card/p/17Z-0061-00056?Description=m2%20pcie%20adapter&cm_re=m2_pcie%20adapter-_-9SIAFMX8VP0255-_-Product

the benefit would be minimal, as PCIe 2.0 is faster than Sata 3, but not by much

By the time you work in costs of the adapter & the M2 itself, you could have obtained a larger capacity 2.5" SSD Sata 3 connection for substantially less money and you wouldn't notice the difference in gaming.

You'd be better off upgrading your board/cpu if you plan on using a modern M2 NVME like the Crucial P3

thanks a lot for this detailed answer.
Indeed the point was to get the most benefit. Also the pci 2.0 are bloted out by the gpu and fan :p
Realising i could not use the pci 3.0, i bought a plain sata ssd.
Nevertheless, here we dont have newegg. The p3 is half the price of the sata i got... (1 tb each) I also took ddr, here it's 3X the price of newegg's ! (got second hand)

if what i have works well for d4, i guess i will change for d5vr :D
