If you are only buying this to play POE then just buy a super cheap computer considering POE doesnt take much to run. My Macbook pro runs it perfectly. So why spend that much for such a simple game?

My Phenom 'runs it perfectly' by the benchmark you're probably setting. Hell, my Core 2 Quad probably does. but if OP intends to actually push end game where PC's get rekt he at least wants at LEAST the equivalent of 3ghz Haswell single thread perf. Settling for anything below that is a blunder.

Source: Been playing PoE since 2013 and participated in every season and played it on many different configurations.

continue to stay mad.
he didnt state how much more he wants to pay other than asking h60 or getting 240mm.
he's clearly not the OC enthuist type willing to delid, and achieve 5.0ghz+ and use 7700k to its potential.
x31 > h60
also the reason why i said he's gonna be paying more for less perf with that option but better looks.
also the reason why i said go with x61 or at least h100i if he can afford it
also what's wrong with going x31 over the dark pro 3 he wanted?
just stop

I'm really thankful for everyone contributing here and helping me out so much. Please don't get in an argument over this stuff, I guess sometimes it just comes down to preferences.

I'll put in the Corsair H100i then, seems like the safe bet :) I'm 100€ over my max but thats okay I guess.

I'd recommend the 6700k over the 7700k for overclocking if you don't plan to delid. They are equal performers but the former does not have the bizarre heat issues.

The only advantage the 7700k has is the difference in stock speed.

Also you absolutely want to put the game on an SSD. Lots of stutters stem from i/o. Or use an HDD to enjoy the long frequent load screens and the game locking up whenever some guy loads into the town or zone with his $500 of mtx.

-waitforpreload fixes a lot of the stutter you get in maps opening strongboxes loading new enemies etc but increases load times. And if you're slamming through maps like a proper endgame player.. it gets real frustrating real fast.

All these issues are solved by an SSD.
