well op doesnt seem to have a problem with it so i dont see why we should rag on him, its not what i would buy because i could get so much more with the same amount but i mean its his choice so whatever

hes going to have to cancel the order so maybe he'll rethink it.

i also think he should drop the gigabyte card and pick a msi lightning up, newegg might be out but im sure SOMEBODY has one

lose the raptor
get 2 tb hdds n raid them

raptor = 10000RPM and RAID provides slower performance as you will experience longer access times since it has to search 2 drives instead of 1. Second, your raid array will use more cpu while reading/writing to it, so in actuality your decreasing performance by having raid 0 drives.

I appreciate all the advice. It's just after about 16hours of reading and research, my eyes got big and I decided to splurge. That being the case, my ISO from you guys became invalid :(

You don't understand raid. Here's a picture for you..

Does that look slow to you?

That's raid 5. The slowest form of raid.

there is no need for the raptor in the least if you are buying a SSD too?
wtf?

drop the raptor, and add a better cpu cooler... perhaps a corsair H70?

also, asus all day when it comes to the mobo... but that's just my personal preference...

Looks like I'm convinced. I'll drop the Raptor and go with a 2TB RAID 0 config. It's the safest solution / cheapest solution.
As for the suggestions, I am listening. I'm challenging suggestions with info I read elsewhere. Believe it or not, I do attempt to make educated decisions and not go blindly. Hence my requests for help from the GURU's here :)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181013&Tpk=corsairH70
H20 Cooling has always intimidated me... That device looks pretty simple though to work with
BTW: I'm guessing with all these temps that there is software that I'm going to be able to see the temps of my Video Card / Processor?

I thought of this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811992005&cm%5Fre=sentry%5F2-%5F-11-992-005-%5F-Product&nm%5Fmc=AFC-C8Junction&cm%5Fmmc=AFC-C8Junction-%5F-RSSDailyDeals-%5F-na-%5F-na&AID=10521304&PID=4176827&SID=xm33a0camcuu
but the fb says that it's been catching on fire so I'm avoiding it and hoping their is software or something where I can view the temps
