It looks like you may have the RAM in the wrong slots ( not running in dual-channel). It's also not running at 3000Mhz, nor is the XMP profile enabled.

/e Otherwise....it looks great. :)

I have them in A1 and B1, perhaps I'm in the wrong slots..
I'll have to look through BIOS, I didn't touch much there, I just wanted to get windows up and running on it asap.
Thank you for pointing these out.

What motherboard did you end up getting?

/e IF two sticks of RAM...it is supposed to go into the grey colored slots. Those would be slots 2 & 4 counting away from the CPU.

Then in the BIOS...enable the XMP profile.

Yeah, I'm in the wrong slots, it's been a while since I built one lol.

ASUS Z170-A is what I got.

Will do! Thanks again brother!

The slots you had the RAM in were...OK, just not the recommended ones.

Speccy or CPU-Z should show the RAM as being in dual-channel.

They should also show the RAM as running at 1500Mhz, which multiplied by 2 would give you the 3000Mhz speed of the RAM.

That benchmark you ran, had all good except the RAM. I expect that enabling XMP profile in the BIOS would get you to the 3000Mhz the RAM should operate at. If not, you can manually set the RAM frequency and timings in the BIOS.

Er...the motherboard manual for every damn ASUS board says slots 2 & 4.
We already know the other two slots work.

Should we listen to you...or ASUS?

Gave hima 1070, a 6700K, and a 2TB HDD.

If he doesn't need the 2TB...then...

use slots 2 and 4, counting away from the cpu socket
go into bios and run them in xmp profile 1. that'll default them to their normal running spec
