Benchmarks are only derpy for computer saavy people, which casual users aren't. You were arguing based on your personal opinion on benchmarks. Benchmarks serve a useful purpose for people that don't see beyond the purpose of a benchmark.
no... benchmarks aren't derpy for computer savvy people cos they understand it more than a casual.
The point im trying to make is that the most people (casuals) that use benchmarks just see "graph A is better than B, so i will get A" that's why it's derpy.
benchmark clearly wasn't useful for you, as you were gonna spend another $160 for a 8350, whereas a non-casual will see the benchmark and be like "k not worth, rather spend dat budget elsewhere"
but to you, it was the benchmark of 8350 > 6300, so i'll get 8350. Tho, u didn't get it, cos you were smart enuff to get opinions, and info. from PEOPLE, not benchmarks.

lol benchmarks serve a purpose for saavy users also
there are benchmarks that show overclocked results
some reviews show more detailed results of the silicon lottery also
seski
and again you talk about overclocking, you are asking people to get educated/spending time on something they are uncomfortable with or might not care to do,
where am i talking about overclocking again? just cos they could purchase an aftermarket cooler doesn't mean they HAVE TO overclock. Just sayin' it's more beneficial to have the same CPU clocked less, with a 212 than same CPU clocked higher with stock cooler for a casual.
As they won't feel any hugeass difference in performance, but will at least know that the fan is quieter and it's keeping the CPU colder..
