The huge ipc difference between bulldozer's 8150 and sandy bridge's 2500k wasn't going to go away just because AMD slapped an additional integer unit and register on each of its 4 (not eight) cores.

I was just showing multithread score and multi tasking results,
fyi
I'm still debating tr(seen xfr 4.2)/7820x or just wait it out longer with the 4770k

8700k leaks is promising. If they hit 5GHz I'm probably getting one.

if you have a 4770k there is no reason to upgrade unless you exclusively play ram bottlenecked games like FO4 or you need intense productivity performance
sit on it til Ryzen+ or until Intel has a proper answer, not this Pentium D-esque desperate house-fire of a holdover

Even the 7800x was getting cooked by modest overclocks. Intel need to get their shit straight and no one should buy their products til they do

hell im going to be using this haswell i5 i got 2 years ago for quite a few more years since it does everything I need it to with resources to spare.

too many variables to say what did that to the chip
