yes in SLI
Not a single gtx 970

60fps is still SMOOTH
There's no point in sacrificing quality/color/resolution for making an already smooth gameplay smoother
If you decide to upgrade your gfx in the near future, you can play next gen games in 1440p max settings without having to buy another monitor

When does color resolution etc Make a fucking game?
Its gameplay and smooth gameplay is key especially on fps

I'm not spending $450. The Early Adopter Tax is real. My EVGA GTX 970 SSC cost me $190 shipped. That's a goddamn deal!

It's going to be sold out everywhere at release and will cost more aka Early Adopter Tax.
E: Also, I prefer Nvidia. My GTX 970 SSC has a factory overclock at 1342 MHz. These have a boost up to 1266 MHZ? lol

Since when was constant 60fps not smooth for any game? You guys serious?
And since when did people sacrifice picture quality for unsteady fluctuating frame rates?
90-140 fluctuation? That's a 50 frame difference lmao
How is that smooth?

lol sounds like you never used anything above 60hz

do you get the point?
why do you play a game, cuz of the gameplay
why do people turn down quality on a game ? for fucking smoother gameplay, competitive to casual
why do you think higher hz monitors have always been the thing even in crt days
why do you think higher hz tvs are a fucking thing even though they are fake frames inserted, becuz its fucking smoother

try a higher hz monitor for awhile for once before you start arguing

yes people turn down quality on a game for smoother gameplay
that is because they want the game to be PLAYABLE SMOOTH
60fps is PLAYABLE AND SMOOTH
As for competitive, sure if you're a top cs go player

90-140 fluctuating frames that dip during action must be so smooth compared to locked constant 60fps
makes sense

lol you ever play past 60?
most can tell 60 vs 96
once you get 96/100 vs 120/144 it becomes less noticeable but still theres people that can notice

btw once you play around 96Plus its hard going back
i use 5760x1080 at 144hz
personal opinion is its way better then some brighter colors but then again i'm not some rainbow lover, smoother gameplay is my priority, if I wanted to waste more money I'd have went with gsync too

also use ips at work, find nothing special about it just vibrant colors

Look
I dont understand how anyone would think 60fps is unplayable, unresponsive, or not smooth

It is good and very smooth

So what do you want

You already have a smooth locked 60fps for gameplay
Along with the smooth 60fps, you get amazing resoultion and amazing colors without sacrificing or compromising anything
You also set yourself up for future upgrades for next gen games in 1440p

Or

You can have smoother gameplay with higher frame rate with possible fluctuating frames(overwatch for sure on high settings)
Along with the extra smooth fps on top of the already smooth 60fps, you compromise and sacrifice for lower graphical settings and lower resolution

Can a 1440p monitor be scaled to 1080p and not look shitty if I'm not getting the framerate I want?

so you buy games for graphics and resolution? shit I'm going to start buying my games for details and colors lol
no you buy them for gameplay
why wouldnt you want to buy a monitor for smoother gameplay

by 1440p vs 1080p same aspect ratio just more detail lol

btw its people like you that is completely fucking up gaming worrying about shit detail then the game itself
