90% of heatspreaders on ram is just for looks....

Unless you're heavily OC'ing ram.. THere's no real need for it.

Or if your airflow in the case is just fucking awful.

RAM voltage has dropped a lot over generations, so I'm not so sure of DDR3 or DDR4 needing heatsinks like previous generations, but RAM can overheat.

RAM stays pretty cool, 1-2mm from the Hyper 212 push fan. :)

Lol, this is if you plan to overclock your ram, or if you don't have absolutely no airflow in your system...
Heatspreader on ram barely makes a difference at all, it's more for aesthetics and money grab from companies.
