Try this.

Forget the pwm cable on the fan controller for a bit.

Put the RAM (securely seated) in slots 2 & 4 counting away from the CPU....to the right, when the case is upright.

The main CPU cooler MUST be plugged into CPU_Fan 1 header on your motherboard.

Try that and see if it boots.

/e Also it would help to know motherboard make and model. :)

THIS please

/e It's not a good Idea to run a thin optical drive in a desktop, w/o an adapter for it. They spin VERY fast, they shatter too, if not help securely in the desktop.

Ok... the RAM is supposed to go in the slots 2 and 4...if comp won't boot with them in there then it should give you an LED debug code. pg 47 in your manual are the debug codes.

The CPU fan needs to be plugged into CPUFAN1 on your motherboard.

The XHCI and USB Controller settings are on page 57 in your manual.

pg 56 in your manual, make sure you set Sata Mode to: AHCI Mode

If installing Windows 7, there's a setting you have to change on pg 75 in your manual.

/e Also make sure the time and date are right, in the BIOS, ofc.

If you DO get a LED debug code with the RAM in slots 2 & 4.... please tell us the code.

It doesn't recognize his usb at all. That's his problem.

Well then he needs to go in disk management to allow his devices to work cos it's not usb slot problem nor the USB itself.

I think, unfortunately, that if the OP is trying to install Win 7, he must 1st do Step #4 above. THEN reinstall Windows.

That pic is right out of his manual.

It seems that NOT doing Step #4 above, may be causing the issue of the comp not recognizing the USB stick....the same for those two other BIOS settings.

Okay i think i may have fixed everything, it took downloading and manually installing all the drivers to finally work,

I had to hook up old comp and download all drivers onto my internal then use it as a slave device on my new one and manually install every driver....

Now im just working out minor issues like windows update not working etc.

Good job. :)

If you installed Win 7, you will need to DL manually....Service Pack 1 and install that to get Windows 7 Updates working.

Assuming, it wasn't included on the Win 7 install disc.

/e The other smaller issue that causes Win 7 updates to fail...is that every 9 months or so, MS releases an Update to Windows Updater. So sometimes you wilkl have to install them first, reboot, then recheck for updates. Actually, you'll probably have to do this a few times for other things like .NET Framework...etc.
