on par with a Skylake build. Skylake only gives 10% increase in performance over Haswell. Will play all your games very well including Ark. If you don't plan to OC can go cheaper with same performance.

I wouldn't spend $1100 on a p/c that i couldn't overclock

You can overclock my 1100$ system, but it is already pre-overclocked to 1,08Ghz, so not sure how much more you can get out of the card.

why do you want to overclock the cpu? That does not yield in better gaming performance. Usually the GPU is the limiting factor for gaming. So why blow money on parts that are already much more powerfull then they need to be?

not all games are graphics intensive
why spend the same amount of money and not get the added benefit of only having to buy a new graphics card when the time comes?

because it is not the same amount of money. unlcocked i7 prozessor costs about 70$ more. The overlclocking chipset will cost 40$ more and you need to spend at least 40$ on cooling to get a 10% overclock. (about 100$ on water cooling to get like a 15% overclock)
Simply not worth it.

And please tell me a single game (besides minecraft) where a i7 6700 will bottleneck a r9 390x at resonable settings.

star citizen
you kinda made that easy ;)

also, i'm saying i would sacrfice graphical performance now in place of super sexy parts everywhere else

my current system
i used a 560ti from CL prior to upgrading to a 970

Star Citizen is not even released yet. Most games in alpha testing are cpu heavy as it is not optimised yet.

Well okay. If you build your PC on "how sexy" it is then that might be fine for you, but other people are mostly looking for the best performance for their money. Overclocked CPU's simply dont offer that.

ALSO: what Cinebench15 Scores do you get with your CPU and what cooling do you use?

I'be noticed in most of your build from both of you you all recommend the R9 gfx, is it really that good of a card?

Also back to SSD, I have never really messed with them. If I could lets say, would it be a good idea to get a small one for STRICTLY windows only, and have another xxgbs one for installs of programs? just wondering if that would affect performance at all.

With some programs today taking up such massive room, I was just curious.

Thank you all for the debates and ideas, it really is helping.
