according to the video seems like radeon cards run better by around 5 to 10 percent than nvidia. the gtx 660 was bit slower than the radeon 7870.

also if more cores = better play online, then shouldnt i just go for the 8 core amd CPU's? i thought cores are meant for more tasks not for more people online? wouldnt more people online mean i would need a better gpu and not more cpu cores? im a bit confused.

thanks for the response. so i guess the more expensive ram is better if its 20 percent faster.
you mentioned the motherboard you put in does not have an old chipset, so im guessing a newer mobo and newer chipset are better? but how are they better? just more reliable as far as not breaking? or quicker? im just wondering if id really notice a difference?

the fx 8320 would've been the cpu i would've put in honestly but it wouldn't be doable with your budget since you need windows and a monitor.
it's more a compatibility thing more then anything.

more core doesn't mean always more performance. last year amd released their first 8 core cpu's and were uber terrible to the point dual core i3 cpu's with 4 threads were more performant.
the fx 8320 and the fx 8350 are great cpu's tho :P
the fx 8350 is a fx 8320 but at a higher clock speed but the price difference isn't worth it.

Here's great news for A.M.D.!
http://us.hardware.info/reviews/3991/3/amd-radeon-hd-7970-ghz-edition-vs-nvidia-geforce-gtx-680-frametimes-review-battlefield-3
It seems that A.M.D. has reduced its frametime latency and increased its frame rate!

Regarding threads in B.F.3, multiplayer could become more C.P.U. dependent than singleplayer, and, I.I.R.C., threads are used to calculate players' physics.

According to post 10 in the following thread, six threads are the maximum in a way, "edit: BF3 uses 6 threads or it uses arithmetic to spread the equivalent of 6 threads across 8-12... pretty sure source engine is like 4 threads max."
http://play.esea.net/index.php?s=forums&d=topic&id=478938

However, if you want to "future-proof", the eight core Vishera line is good, I.M.O., but technology advances quickly, so Steamroller might be a better option if you decide to upgrade with that motherboard, so getting a decent motherboard allows for overclocking and increases the useful lifetime of P.C.s.

I need to check current news... Thank you! As that video stated, the 660 at $235 would be negated for B.F.3 because of the 7870's price of $240.

The 13.1 driver got a boost!
"Up to 10%-15% more performance in Battlefield 3 in most cases"

I saw this website magic micro. How is this build? :

Magic AMD FX Scout

AMD FX-6100 Bulldozer (Zambezi) 3.3GHz (Six Core) 32nm, AM3+ 8MB Cache
Spire Kestrel-King II AMD 64 fan
MSI 760GM-E51 (FX), AM3+, AMD 760G, Onboard Video, HDMI, GB LAN
8GB (2x4GB) PC12800 DDR3 1600 Dual Channel
AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB PCI Express 16x dual head DVI, HDMI
1000.0 GB Seagate Barracuda 7200 RPM SATA3 6GB/s 64m Cache
LG 22x DVD Recorder Dual Layer +R/RW -R/RW
Realtek HD digital audio (onboard)
Ethernet network adapter (onboard)
Cooler Master Elite 311 black, Side Window, front USB
Logisys 480W ATX Power Supply
Black Windows Keyboard, 104 key
2-Button Wheel Mouse, PS/2 Black
Black Multimedia amplified stereo speakers
Standard assembly and test 3-5 business days

Says its $743.00. But like $50 for shipping :[ . Seems pretty decent? Any1 got an opinion on that website, or the parts to this pc? Or any other comments for other suggestions?
The CPU is like $120. And the mobo is like $60. Is the mobo too cheap?

Thanks!

might i ask why are they garbage? from what i can tell they seem similar to any other build ive seen lately? im not trying to be an ass, i would seriously like to know why these parts are "garbage" as compared to other parts?
