Glanced thru the thread. The ram will work. Theoretically you could use the ram together, as long as you were to set the timings all to the same, but you only have 2 ram slots. 4GB to 8GB will help with multitasking, buy an SSD will make the system run overall faster. I'd recommend this: https://m.newegg.com/products/N82E16820156173?ignorebbr=1&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker%2c+LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&AID=10446076&PID=3938566

I can tell you right now an SSD is what you're looking for. Especially with a disk drive as old as yours, an SSD will be about 10x faster. That's not an exaggeration. Any time you turn your computer on or open an app, it will be near instant with an SSD. SSD flash storage, not needle and disc, so it doesn't need to search for files, it can find them near instantly.

Your operating system(s) and large applications on the SSD, and documents/small apps on the HDD if you run both. If you don't need more than 500GB space, just use the SSD.

yea then that'd be fine they also suggest it since RS3 the latest update I forget what it was called. Changed the UI and stuff, but also for OSRS it'd be better as well.
