No, your right there, they are successful because most people are unaware, so they okay with spending twice more for same service elsewhere, and so that extra profit let them last.
Publicity has a big role there too.

Yes, which goes back to my main point of saying computer shops are a scam and not worth it at all (outside of state of the art data recovery). :)

Well not this particular shop, 25$ CAD is pretty much fair.
There is 3 others shop just near this one, they charger 49.99$ for the same service.

And scam? Well... They doing free RMA for me, and as well they took 2 days on their own time for free?

Dont think its a scam, now i got a working asus board, until my rma come back they will change it for free... How is that a scam ? :o

edit : You have to think about it...They have a rent to pay, employee to pay... or maybe you should explain what is the word <<scam>> mean to you... cause maybe were just arguing on something we dont have the same definitions of :bonk:

Nice, so you are now defending a shop that ultimately had control/possession of your parts, and ruined them. All the time they spent on this, and your time wasted over $25.. when you could have done it yourself, is definitely not worth the $. Your time is much more valuable as well.
