You're not just spending more but making a lot of sacrifices to mobility and battery life, do you really need to play mediocre at best current AAA games at high settings/resolutions while traveling that badly? Statistically, something like 99% of all games that have been made since the beginning of gaming can be made to run on even a low-power 6 year old notebook. Included in those are almost every game actually worth playing.

If size, weight, and battery aren't even a concern you may as well just convert your desktop into a lanbox

80% of the time I'll be using laptop instead of desk so I want a good one

No point in getting mad :) I know desktops are way better in every single angle but sadly I'm not at home much and I need a laptop

I also know most people in here hates laptops but maybe some people will help me out

it's sad to see people spend $2300 for a "gaming laptop" and only get a 120hz experience (asus zephyrus) for example

i think it's impossible for a gaming laptop to actually be good as a laptop. i.e be lightweight and have good battery life. That generally holds true as most people I know who have a high end gaming laptop generally prefer to use their Surface Pro or something similar since it's actually mobile. And they end up playing games on that too since turns out most games that require a high end gaming laptop aren't very good.

Solid argument here.
They make fine desktop replacements, though. If you don't mind paying more and additional heat.

If ALL you're doing on the go is plopping it down somewhere, hooking it up to the wall, and playing games, which defeats the purpose of a laptop imo... I guess it's a viable option. Still would rather convert my desktop to a lanbox for that purpose though.

I just can't think of one use case for a gaming laptop that makes sense. If you're in a good spot to hook it into the wall you're in a good spot to have a small form factor desktop. Maybe the one time in a million when you're at an airport and all the outlets at the gate aren't already being used to charge phones.

I could agree with you if you don't mind making room for keyboard and monitor/projector and have dedicated bag for it
Laptop just makes transportation completely easy

Good article here: https://thewirecutter.com/reviews/best-gaming-laptop/

The Acer Predator 17 is pretty dope and you could save a lil money.
