People use 7700k to OC and get max fps possible to use it with their 144hz monitor. However if Ur using a 60hz montior, you'll benefit more with the ryzen just cuz both cpu will do the same, but you'll have more multi tasking perf. (so u might as well spend less for the same thing, but still have the option to benefit from multi tasking even if you don't in the future)

In Ur case, I'd recommend the ryzen because you aren't overclocking and you'll benefit more with a better gpu. Plus Ur more into poe than playing fps games competively etc.

Ryzen is the better option. You were on the right track.

That motherboard is fantastic. ASRock and MSI are the best choices for Ryzen motherboards until the new microcode is tested and released by ASUS, Gigabyte, etc.

You can go 1700 if you want! Your call. I honestly don't think it'll make too much of a difference for you in what you plan to do.

E: Bigger HDD and nicer case are options.

so this is what I would end up with. I don't really need a HDD, I still got my 1 TB on this PC empty cause my 256GB SSD is enough storage :D.
One more question: what about a cooler? You did not include one into your build, would it be worth spending the 50€ for the Dark Rock 3 for example?

Eh. Not really. You can overclock to as high as 3.9 GHz on Ryzen stock cooler if you're lucky. You can get 3.7 GHz guaranteed. You said you're prob not gonna overclock, though. Stock cooler is good enough. They're actually quite decent.

Get the EVGA G3 PSU if possible.

ryzen includes stock fans for their cooler and it's not trash like the old amd cpu's. So no, u dont need to spend 50 extra for em.
also, i wouldn't get a microATX board with that case, but ofc that's up to you. Standard sized atx board would look better in them.
seems like you want a black/blue build, u can change the mobo, case led to blue and it's pretty much it aside from gpu ruining the color theme.
get a strix if it bothers you

just ram issues but that was couple months ago. It got a lot better, and eventually will be able to utilize 3200mhz if not already.
the ab350 gaming 3 is a far more superior board than the ab350m pro4.
ill be getting mine 1700 w/ gaming3 next week to test it

They haven't done an update yet to solve them. They're still internally testing with the new microcode. They are still having issues.

Only MSI and ASRock motherboards work without issues.

they already released 6 bios updates, wouldnt consider that doing no updates to try solve.
the samsung chips work without problems, and cas14 ones.
others who cant wait just manually set their timings without using xmp (shdnt even be usin xmp if ocing)
most reach 3000mhz np, it's matter of getting 3200 now.

these reviews all achieve it,

If they're struggling to hit 3200 and still need b-die RAM, then it isn't fixed and you shouldn't recommend it. The ASRock boards are fine quality and work.
